In April 2007 the European Performance of Building Directive (EPBD) became law in England and Wales. This law, for the first time, required the inspection of all air conditioning systems over 250kW rated output to be inspected. The aim of the inspection was to give building owners and operators information about the performance of their buildings and plant, and to identify opportunities to save energy and cut operating costs.
On January 2011, the Directive was extended to all systems above 12kW.
The inspection work should be carried out by a registered assessor working either independently or for a competent company with a track record. Efficient Air has been involved in advising the Government and professional associations before, during and after the law was introduced, and can provide total professional competence as well as peace of mind.
